Laser Hardening
We offer
optional laser hardening for our tools. This increases the wear resistance and
extends the lifetime of the tool.
Compared to other hardening methods, laser hardening offers the following advantages:
- Hardening of the working surface to 55…60 HRc
- selective hardening in the
stressed areas
- Hardening depth up to 2 mm (compared
to nitriding hardness depth 0.2…0.3 mm)
- Reduced distortion due to low thermal stress
- Adjustment of hardening tools
not necessary
- Minimizing of finishing work
Our
tooling is hardened by a Nd-YAG-laser that offers the following advantages
compared to a conventional CO2-laser:
- Consistent depth and degree of hardening through directly
controlled hardening temperature
- Hardening of 3D-contours
- No coating, therefore no
blasting (surface finishing) necessary
- defined gauge width
